|
David Booth is a renowned educator and professor emeritus in the Curriculum, Teaching and Learning Department at OISE/UT. As a classroom teacher, consultant, speaker, and writer he has delighted thousands with his energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. He is well known as an international speaker, having worked with teachers and administrators throughout Canada, the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and Asia. He is the author of dozens of books for teachers, educators, and parents such as Even Hockey Players Read and The Literacy Principal, and is an award-winning writer of picture books for children. | ||||

Joan Green has had a distinguished career as an educator and leader in the public sector. She was the Director of Education for the Toronto Board of Education, and, prior to that, served as a teacher, principal, and superintendent for the City of Toronto. In 1995, Joan became the CEO of the Ontario Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO). In 2002 she was appointed a Commissioner on Education for the Province of Alberta. Joan is a published author on curriculum, assessment, leadership, and equity issues, and recently co-authored Northern Lights: Outstanding Canadian Women. She has received many honours and awards, including the distinguished Educator Award from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, and the Leadership Award for Women in Educational Administration in Ontario. Joan has been a member of the board for hospital, university, and cultural institutions, and is currently the Chair of the board of Roots of Empathy. |

Jack Booth has been involved in the educational community for over 30 years. He has taught elementary grades, served as a resource teacher for grades 7-10, and was an English/Language Arts consultant for grades K-12. Recently, Jack has been an educational development author/consultant for publishers in Canada and China. For many years, Jack has been writing materials for students and teachers. He was a senior author of the Impressions Program; consultant/author for the MeadowBooks series for Harcourt Canada; co-author of Harcourt's Word Sense series; and co-author and editor-in-chief of The Out Loud Program: Rhymes, Rhythms and Patterns for Language Learning. Jack has presented lectures, workshops, and seminars across North America, the United Kingdom, and Asia. |
